Three Himalayan Capitals Program Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive to Kathmandu (1300m). Sunset from Swoyambhu
Day 2: Visit Kathmandu Valley; Pashupati Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Patan Durbarsquare
Day 3: Fly to Lhasa. Visit the Lhasa City
Day 4: Lhasa Sightseeing
Day 5: Lhasa Sightseeing
Day 6: Fly to Kathmandu
Day 7: Fly to Paro, drive to Thimpu. Thimpu Sightseeing
Day 8: Thimpu Sightseeing. Drive to Punakha
Day 9: Punakha sightseeing. Drive to Paro. Paro sightseeing
Day 10: Climb Taktsang Monastery
Day 11: Fly to Kathmandu. Departure home

Arrive to Kathmandu
Meeting at Kathmandu airport, transfer to the hotel. Visit Kathmandu Durbarsquare and Swoyambhu (Monkey Temple) Stupa, visit Vishnumati River and its cremation ghat, observe Kathmandu Valley view with sunset over the Himalayan range, dinner.
Sightseeing in Kathmandu
Visit Patan Durbar Square (Royal Palace Museum), 12th century GoldenTemple and other ancient temples, visit Boudha Stupa, visit Pashupati Temple and observe Hindu funeral ceremony on the bank of holy Bagmati River, join the evening aarati next to the temple.
Fly to Paro, 1 Hr. Drive to Thimpu, 55KM (1 Hr)
Kathmandu to Paro flight offers magnificent view of the Himalayan range including 8000M Mountains. An hour morning flight will take to Paro where our local staff will meet and transfer to the town for orientation with the place and people. We drive to Thimpu for hour and half, the least visited of all the Himalayan capitals. Check in to hotel and after some rest we will visit the Memorial Chhorten of the king Jingme Dorji Wangchuk. Later, we visit Tashichho Dzong, seat of Bhutan administrative and religious centre. Overnight at the hotel.
Drive to Punakha: 87KM, 3.5 Hrs
After breakfast, drive to Punakha, the older winter capital of Bhutan. The Thimpu -Punakha drive is a pleasant drive with glimpse of panorama from the Dochu La (3080m). We will visit 108 memorial stupas (Druk Wangyal Chortens) and the Druk Wangyal Lhakhang Temple. Bhutanese celebrate annual Dochula Druk Wangyel Festival in December every year at the top of the pass. If weather permits, appreciate the spectacular views of eastern Himalayas including Bhutan highest mountain Gankar Punsum (7550m). The road drops down through varied ever changing forest, finally emerging into the highly cultivated Punakha valley. Afternoon, hike up to Chhimi Lakhang (the temple of divine madman) following by Mo Chu River. It is a beautiful walk through a lovely village.
Drive to Paro
Early morning, visit to Punakha Dzong. After breakfast, we drive back to Paro via Dochu La and Thimpu. Afternoon, proceed for the city tour visiting, Ta Dzong (remains closed on Sunday and Monday) once a
