Tibet Experience: 05 days introductory visit to Lhasa and surroundings. Arrive to the Paro airport, one of the few most beautiful boutique airport in the world with the theme of Tibetan Buddhist monastery. Visit the big and beautiful Tashicho Dzong in Thimpu, drive over the Dochu La (3150m) before arriving to the Punakha, the summer capital of the country. In Punakha, visit iconic Punakha Dzong, short and beautiful hike through the phallus painted village and reach  to the Chhimi Lhakhan (Divine Madman Temple). Drive back to Paro for Taktsang monastery hike and explore the Paro valley.

Arrive to Kathmandu (1300m), Visit Swoyambhu Stupa

Airport representative of Mountain Climbers Treks & Adventure will receive you and transfer by private vehicle to the hotel. In the late afternoon, drive to Swoyambhu Stupa to observe sunset view on the Himalayan range and to overview the Kathmandu Valley. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Visit Kathmandu Valley

After breakfast, we start the discovery by visiting of the Hindu temple of Pashupatinath and its cremation ghât. It’s the holy site for those who follows Shiva. Later, visit of the Boudhanath Stupa which is the center of Tibetan Buddhism and its Tibetan quarter. After lunch, we visit Patan –the city of fine arts. The city is known for it’s finest traditional crafts and rich artistic heritage. We visit the 17th century Patan Durbar Square (Royal Palace Museum), 12th century Golden Temple (a three storey golden pagoda of Shakyamuni Buddha) and many other ancient temples.

Fly to Pokhara. Visit the Pokhara Valley

After breakfast, 45 minutes flight to the Pokhara in the morning. Drive ten minutes from the Pokhara airport to the hotel. Visit the Lake Side town and cross the Phewa lake boat, we hike for an hour and half to the World Peace Pagoda. The World Peace Pagoda offers almost 180 degree views of Dhaulagiri –Annapurna –Manaslu Himalayan view when the weather is clear. Drive down to the Lake Side town. On the way, we visit the Devi’s Waterfall and Gupteshwor Cave. Drive back to the Lakeside. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Pokhara Visit. Fly to Kathmandu

Early morning drive to Sarangkot for sunrise view over Dhaulagiri (8167m) -Annapurna (8091m) –Manaslu (8163m) Himalayan ranges. Three out of ten world’s highest snowy peaks which are situated within 30 miles linear distance from the city. After breakfast, it’s possible to experience some of the adventure sports that Pokhara offers including Paragliding or Ultra-Light Aircraft. Afternoon, fly back to Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel.

Fly to Lhasa. Rest, Acclimatization, Exploration

After breakfast, transfer to the airport to fly to Lhasa. An hour and thirty minutes the trans-Himalayan flight starts from Kathmandu in the morning and arrives at Lhasa at afternoon. English speaking Tibetan guide will be waiting for you to receive you from the Lhasa Gongkar Airport. After arrival, one hour drive (60KM) to the city and transfer to the hotel in Lhasa. In the evening, stroll around the Bharkhor Street. Overnight at hotel.

Lhasa Sightseeing

Two days in Lhasa include visiting Jokhang Temple (situated in the heart of Old Lhasa and houses Tibet’s most precious religious relic, a golden Shakyamuni Buddha which was brought as a gift by the Chinese Princess Wen Cheng on the occasion of her wedding to the Tibetan King, Songtsen Gompo), Barkhor Market Street (religious and social focus of Lhasa), Potala Palace (winter palace of Dalai Lamas which is legendary palace built atop a single hill is synonymous with Tibet by the first foremost king Songtsen Gompo.), Drepung Monastery (located at the foot of Mount Gephel and is one of the great three Gelug university Gompas of Tibet, other two being Ganden and Sera), Sera Monastery (one of Lhasa’s prettiest monasteries with a community of more than 5,000 monks used to resided here) and Norbulingka Palace (Park of Palace which is summer palace of Dalai Lamas. Visiting this palace depends on plan as most of the group joining tours don’t offer it). Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day Trip to Yamdrok Tsho Lake

After breakfast, full day picturesque drive through the Tibetan lifeline river Brahma Putra (Yarlung Tsangpo), beautiful and colorful Yamdrok-Tso Lake through green farmland of Nyangche valley with crossing over Kamba La (4,749m) high pass. The Kambala (4,749m) Pass is a perfect view point for the beautiful and colorful Yamtrok Tsho, photo session with Tibetan giant yaks as well as a lot of Chinese tourists are highlight from the top of the pass. Drive back to Lhasa for the overnight stay.

Fly to Kathmandu. Bhaktapur Visit

After breakfast, drive to the Lhasa Gongkar airport to fly to Kathmandu. Drive to the Bhaktapur town directly from the airport to visit the old city of Bhaktapur. Known as the ‘City of Devotees’, the ‘City of Culture’ or ‘Nepal’s Cultural Gem’, the ‘Living Heritage’, it’s home of traditional arts, architecture and cultures. It has pottery, wood carving and weaving industries. The colorful festivals, ancient temples, and culturally, historically, and archeologically important monuments have enhanced its touristic importance. Drive back to Kathmandu for overnight at the hotel.

Fly to Paro. Drive to Thimpu

Kathmandu -Paro flight offers magnificent view of the Himalayan range including 8000M Mountains’. An hour morning flight will take to Paro where our local staff will meet and transfer to the town for orientation with the place and people. After lunch, we drive to Thimpu for hour and half, the least visited of all the Himalayan capitals. Later, we visit Tashichho Dzong, seat of Bhutan’s administrative and religious centre. If still open and time remains, Bhutan’s General Post office museum is very interesting place to visit and collect unique stamp. Overnight in Thimpu.

Thimpu Sightseeing. Drive to Punakha

After breakfast, visit the Memorial Chhorten of the late immediate past King Jigme Dorji Wangchuk. Thimpu -Punakha drive takes about 3 hrs on route crossing the Dochula pass from where we can see the entire Bhutanese Himalayas; east of Chomolhari to Gangkhar Puensum – if we are lucky with the weather. On arrival in Punakha visit the Chimi Lhakhang, also known as the Devine Madman Temple, which is popular among childless Bhutanese couples as a temple to seek blessings for fertility. Visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong Fortress, the winter seat of the Head Abbot built at the confluence of the two rivers Pho Chu and Mo Chu. Overnight in Punakha.

Visit Punakha. Drive to Paro. Paro Sightseeing

Punakha –Paro drive takes almost five hours with stopover in Dochula Pass. On arrival, visit the Ta Dzong (remains closed on Sunday and Monday) once a watchtower, built to defend Rinpung Dzong (another fort) during inter-valley wars of the 17th century, Ta Dzong was inaugurated as Bhutan’s National Museum in 1968. It holds fascinating collection of art, relics, religious thangkha paintings and Bhutan’s exquisite postage stamps. Overnight in Paro.

Climb Taktsang Monastery, 6-7 Hrs

Taktshang Pelphung monastery (Tiger’s Nest) is one of the most venerated and famous of Bhutan’s monasteries which is located on the face of 900m sheer cliff. According to the legend, Guru Padmasambhava or Guru Rinpoche, who spread the Buddhism across the entire Himalayas is said to have flown here in the 8th century on the back of a Tigress, in order to subdue negative spiritual forces that were hostile to spread of Buddhism. It is either accessible by walk or to ride mules/pony. Enjoy the narrow trail to a beautiful waterfall that plunges down the deep chasm and alongside is a retreat hermitage, jammed dramatically into a rock crevice. After lunch at cafeteria, we trek back to the town. If time remains, we visit the Jangtsa Dumtse Lhakhang. Built by the great bridge-builder Thangtong Gyelpo in 1433 in the form of a chorten which is very rare in Bhutan. Overnight at the Tenzinling Resort, Paro.

Fly to Kathmandu, 1 Hr. Drive to Dhulikhe, 1 Hr

After breakfast, transfer to the airport to board your flight to Kathmandu. Drive the countryside of Nepal just outside of Kathmandu city, stop by at the world’s highest Shiva statue to observe Kathmandu valley one more time, drive further to the beautiful Dhulikhel viewpoint. Sunset view over the Himalayan range. Overnight at hotel. Optional: Rest, relax and souvenirs shopping in Kathmandu.
