DAY 7, FRI: DRIVE TO TINGRI (4300M), 325KM, 6-7 HRS
Traverse along the friendship highway, picturesque landscape, pass small town of Lhatse and Gyamtso La (5220m), monasteries, camps of nomadic herders.
Optional Everest Base Camp: Offroad drive 90KM to Ronbuk village for 2 hours, breathtaking sunset and sunrise from the Rongbuk Monastery over the Mount Everest, 2KM (or less) short hike around visitors’ Everest Base Camp. Sunset & sunrise from world’s highest Rongbuk Monastery over the Everest, 02 hours hike (or less) back and forth to EBC.
DAY 8, SAT: DRIVE TO KATHMANDU: 400KM, 11-2 HRS
225KM, 5 hours drive to Kyirong border via spectacular Nyalam tong La (5120m) and Lung La (5080m), view over Mt. Everest (8848m). and Mt. Shishapangma (8013m), border crossing, drive to Kathmandu for 6-7 hours. Trip ends!

TIMELINE TO PROCED TIBET GROUP VISA!!!
There must be a minimum of 5 people in the group with same program, traveling together. In order to apply Tibet group visa, scanned front copy of passport as well as digital copy of photograph is required 10 days before the actual entry date to Tibet. After the Tibet Travel Permit is granted, we apply Chinese visa here in China Visa Application Center in Kathmandu along-with original passport and biometric information of participants together. The decision of visa will be taken 4-5 official working days.
There are no clear rules posed by Chinese Embassy whether to grant or deny the visa to travel to Tibet. Please also note that visa requirements and regulations can change frequently. We suggest to have flexible international flight tickets and flexible plan. Mountain Climbers Treks & Adventure (P.) Ltd and its third parties are responsible to do all the paperworks and proceed all necessary documents on time to obtain permits and visa for visiting Tibet. Acclimatization: This itinerary has been designed to prevent Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). The higher you go the lesser oxygen available. For a safe trek it’s essential to allow sufficient time for acclimatization. Sensible planning is therefore required to minimize the risk of AMS. We advise specially to the guest(s) with heart/ lungs/ blood diseases to consult the doctor before trek because some people can be more susceptible than others. Mild headache, fever, loss of appetite, and stomach disorder are symptoms of AMS. Going up too fast may causes serious illness.
NOTE: On adventure tour on this type, weather, local politics, transport or a multitude of other factors beyond our control can result in a change of itinerary, it is however, very unlikely that the itinerary would be substantially altered; if alterations are necessary your guide will decide what is the best alternative consulting with you, taking into consideration the best interests of the whole group. Overland Everest Base Camp Jeep Tour -08 Days
Join in one of our fix departure (group joining) trip to the Everest Base Camp and Lhasa which is complete driving experience to the Mt. Everest Base Camp from Tibet side. Lhasa (3650m), the capital of Tibet which also means “Place of the Gods”, is situated on the north bank of Kyichu River is the residence of the Dalai Lamas.
DAY 01: DRIVE TO KERUNG/KYIRONG (2700M), 145KM 7-8 HRS
Our journey into the Himalaya begins. with a scenic drive to Kyirong (Nepal -Tibet border). Early drive (as early as 04:00AM) due to the time difference between Nepal and Tibet as the Tibet Border follows the Beijing Time (02:15M ahead of Nepal time) which means the border closes two hours fifteen minutes before Nepal time.
At the top of the Kathmandu valley, the views extend west as far as the Annapurnas and Manaslu. As you drop down into the Trisuli valley you’ll pass through terraced hillsides to Trisuli Bazaar, where an exciting, narrow road traverses several ridges to reach the small town of Dhunche (1970M), a good view point for Langtang as well as Jugal Himalayan panorama. We drive through the beautiful Nepalese countryside. Please be patience that there are multiple check-points before entering to Tibet and after crossing Nepal-Tibet border too!
After completion of the necessary border formalities for exit of Nepal at Nepalese immigration, short walk to the Chinese Immigration to complete the necessary border formalities for entry to Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR). After border formalities, adventurous uphill drive to the Upper Kyirong which is also called Gyirong, Kerong or Kerang. Overnight stay at Guest House.
DAY 2: DRIVE TO SHIGATSE (3900M), 547KM, 6-7 HRS
Kyirong -Tingri -Shigatse drive offers one of the most breathtaking view of the north face of the Mt. Everest as well as Mt. Shishapangma, both of them are over 8000m mountains. Drive uphill crossing Gyatchu La (5220m), the highest motor-able road in Tibet. En route, we will observe Pakba Monastery (built by Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo for his Nepali wife, princess Bhrikuti to guard the border towns of Nepal) and Peiku-tso Lake (4591m). We drive via Lhatse from where road to Mt Kailash separates to the west.
DAY 3: DRIVE TO LHASA (3650M), 351KM, 6-7 HRS
Early morning sightseeing to the Panchen Lama’s Tashilhumpu monastery before heading to the Lhasa.
DAY 4-5: VISITS OF LHASA

Drive 225KM to Kyirong border for 4-5 hours via spectacular Nyalam Tong La (5120m) and Lung La (5058m), view over Mt. Everest (8848m) and Mt. Shishapangma (8013m). After immigration formalities, we cross the Kyirong-Nepal border, drive to Kathmandu for 6-7 hours. Trip. ends!
DETAILS OF ITINERARY
The Road Trip to Tibet starts with an epic and adrenaline Kathmandu –Kyirung drive, passing through the Dhunche town (1970m), a good view point for Langtang and Jugal Himalayan panorama.
