Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) and local people has protected an area in north of Pokhara which is known as Annapurna Sanctuary lies just beneath the southern slopes of the Annapurna Massif and has panoramic views of Dhaulagiri, the Annapurna range, Manaslu and Ganesh Himal.
Annapurna Base Camp (Annapurna Sanctuary) Trek is an easy trek from Pokhara and takes one through some of Nepal’s most lovely rhododendron forests to the Ghorepani, Poonhill and eventually to the Annapurna Base Camp through Typical Gurung village at Landruk, Ghandruk and Chhomrong, (fishtail) Machhapuchhre Base Camp, spectacular mountains view from Annapurna base camp, sunrise and mountains view from Poon hill, natural hot spring at Jhinudanda, Gurung & Magar culture, mostly walk inside conserved area. This is set at 13,000 feet in an amphitheater surrounded by half a dozen peaks more than 21,000 feet tall.
